Building on the skills course participants have acquired in the Bachelor’s Seminar, students work with a view to deepening their ability to carry out independent research in a specific problem area relevant to their studies and the fields represented within the unit of English. The chosen topic will be developed into a Master’s Thesis. The topic may be a significantly expanded and developed version of the topic of the Bachelor’s Thesis, or a completely new one, depending on the student’s interests.
Practice will be gained in independent research, retrieval and presentation of scholarly materials, the use of libraries, critical evaluation of previous research and scholarly material, critical thinking and scholarly discussions, and the evaluation of research.
