Summary of the contents of the course: definitions and key concepts and ideas of tourism, globalisation and sustainable development and their relations; theories of development/under-development and globalisation; political economy of global tourism and sustainability; local-global nexus and globalisation from below; international, regional and national tourism organizations; global tourism; regional structures and development; impacts of tourism in local-global nexus and different socio-spatial contexts; and tourism-globalisation-sustainability: case studies focusing north and south.
