Passive treatment systems are cost-efficient solutions for water treatment in the case where amount of water is huge (mine influenced waters, effluent of intensive recirculated aquaculture systems, urban waters etc.).
This is on line course gathering researchers, PhD students and experts in the field of passive treatment systems to share newest results and experiences as well as the most relevant designing factors for nutrient and metal removal by passive treatment systems. The aims of the course are to learn nutrient and metal removal processes and how those can be implemented in passive treatment systems. The course will also give basic knowledge how flow and removal processes can be modeled and predicted.
