This course is a new course in the Internet of Medical Things orientation from the Biomedical Engineering program. Thorugh this course students will be able to:
- understand and apply the fundamental principles of health software development, including regulatory, safety, and quality requirements related to healthcare and medical devices
- design health software components using appropriate software engineering methods and taking into account reliability, usability and risk management
- apply health software standards and good practices throughout the software development lifecycle
- analyze and evaluate health software solutions from the perspectives of clinical benefit, ethical considerations, sustainability and patient value, and communicate the results clearly
